Bac Ninh provincial leader receives Timor-Leste Prime Minister

BAC NINH - Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Xuan Loi has recently hosted a delegation from Timor-Leste led by Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão during a visit to the VSIP Industrial Park, highlighting opportunities to strengthen cooperation in investment, trade, culture and tourism.

Welcoming the Timor-Leste leader, the PPC Vice Chairman introduced Bac Ninh’s socio-economic achievements, describing the northern province as one of Vietnam’s leading industrial hubs.

The delegation visits the master-plan model of VSIP Industrial Park.

He said Bac Ninh has maintained strong economic growth, ranks fifth nationwide in economic scale, and consistently records one of the country’s highest import-export turnovers.

The province has attracted more than 3,500 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total registered capital exceeding 49.7 billion USD, according to provincial authorities.

The provincial leader also outlined Bac Ninh’s industrial infrastructure development plan, which includes 52 industrial parks. He highlighted VSIP Industrial Park as a model of green, clean and modern industrial development.

He expressed hope that Prime Minister Gusmão’s visit would pave the way for new cooperation opportunities between Bac Ninh and Timor-Leste, particularly in investment, trade, cultural exchange and tourism.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Gusmão thanked provincial leaders for their warm reception and hospitality.

The Timor-Leste leader said he hoped to send workers from Timor-Leste to Vietnam to study, improve professional skills and learn the Vietnamese language before returning home to contribute to national development.

Gusmão also expressed admiration for Vietnam’s development achievements and said he hoped Timor-Leste could one day attain a similar level of progress.

He added that the visit provided an opportunity to further strengthen friendship and cooperation among ASEAN member states.

During the visit, delegates exchanged gifts, posed for commemorative photographs and toured a master-plan model of the VSIP Industrial Park.

On the occasion, PPC Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi presented a traditional Dong Ho folk painting to Prime Minister Gusmão as a symbol of Vietnamese cultural heritage.

The Timor-Leste delegation also visited the industrial park’s planning exhibition area.
