The highlight came in the men’s doubles final on June 7 at Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Arena, where the Bac Ninh pair of Nghiem Viet Trung and Vu Manh Hai defeated Nguyen The Canh and Pham Thai Bao of Son La to claim the gold medal.

In addition to the men’s doubles title, Bac Ninh earned a silver medal in the men’s singles event through Nguyen Dinh Dat.

The province also collected two bronze medals, won by Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Bao Ngoc in women’s doubles, and Vu Manh Hai and Pham Thanh Hang in mixed doubles.

Bac Ninh’s delegation also captured a silver medal in the mixed team event. The team featured athletes Nguyen Dinh Dat, Nghiem Viet Trung, Vu Manh Hai, Nghiem Dinh Duong, Chu Minh Tuan, Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh, Pham Thanh Hang, Nguyen Quynh Mai, Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Ngo Vu Thao Linh.

The 2026 National Youth Badminton Championships were organized by the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Badminton Federation.

The tournament attracted more than 200 athletes from 20 teams representing provinces, cities and sectors across the country. Competitors contested six events: mixed team, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

The championships are a key event in Vietnam’s high-performance sports calendar, providing young players with opportunities to gain competitive experience, improve technical skills and exchange expertise.

The tournament also serves as a platform for sports authorities to identify and nurture promising badminton talents for the national development programme.
