According to the municipal People’s Committee, as the world enters the era of AI and semiconductors, computing power has become a decisive factor in shaping the competitiveness of nations and cities.
With a vision to become an innovation and high-tech hub of central Vietnam, Da Nang has issued several key resolutions and policies to foster human resources, infrastructure and enterprises in the AI and semiconductor sectors.
A robust high-performance computing (HPC) system is considered the foundation to realise these goals.
The investment in HPC is not merely a technical project but a strategic move, enabling Da Nang to master technology, nurture start-ups, attract investment and address socio-economic challenges.
The project will also support innovation-driven enterprises, semiconductor and AI start-ups located in Software Park No. 2, while connecting local universities to advance research and training in chip design and AI.
The system will be installed at the Data Centre on the second floor of the ICT Building in Software Park No. 2, Hai Chau ward, and is scheduled for implementation from 2025 to 2028.
