According to Government proposals submitted to the legislature, Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh cities will be formed based on the respective natural areas, populations and numbers of commune-level administrative units of the two provinces. Both proposals meet all five conditions stipulated in the Law on Organisation of Local Administration No. 72/2025/QH15 and all seven criteria for establishing centrally-run cities under Resolution No. 112/2025/UBTVQH15.

BAC NINH - Bac Ninh aims for e-commerce retail sales to account for more than 30% of total retail sales of goods and consumer services in the province by 2030, under its plan to implement the retail market development strategy through 2030, with a vision to 2050. 

The programme aims to develop an AI workforce of sufficient scale, structure and quality to meet the requirements of strategic technology sectors, enhance national technological self-reliance, promote innovation and digital transformation, and foster the digital economy and digital society.

BAC NINH - In line with its commitments under the 2003 UNESCO Convention, the provincial People’s Committee has approved a project on the management, safeguarding and promotion of the values of the craft of making Dong Ho folk woodblock printings, with the goal of removing it from the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding by 2040.
