The International Labour Organisation (ILO) signed an agreement with the Netherlands on December 16 for a new project that will predict and address future skills needs in Vietnam’s garment sector.
Vietnam’s textile-garment export revenue is expected to reach 39 billion USD in 2021. This is equal to the planned target set out at the end of 2020 and greater than the highest growth scenario forecasted for 2021.
Vietnam may gain $6 billion from garment and textile exports in November and December, totaling $38 billion in this year's turnover, stated Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).
Large garment companies in Vietnam are still looking to recruit more workers as they continue to see stable orders, with some having orders until April 2022, according to Navigos Search.
