Bac Ninh farmer honoured as ‘Farmer’s Scientist’, three national innovation awards
BAC NINH - A farmer from Bac Ninh has been honoured with the “Farmer’s Scientist” title, while three agricultural innovations from the city won awards at a national technical innovation competition in 2026.
The awards were presented on October 2 in Hanoi at a programme jointly organised by the Vietnam Farmers’ Union and relevant ministries and agencies to honour outstanding agricultural scientists and farmers and recognise technical innovations.

The organisers honoured 42 individuals nationwide with the “Farmer’s Scientist” title for 2026.
Bac Ninh’s recipient was Hoang Dinh Que, a farmer in Tan An ward. Que runs an integrated farm and has developed technical innovations that have generated economic benefits. He has also actively shared farming techniques with local farmers.
At the same event, 24 awards were presented in the 11th National Farmers’ Technical Innovation Competition, covering the 2025-2026 period. Bac Ninh secured three awards.
The first prize went to Vu Van Nghien of Tan An ward for an initiative to manage and operate a commercial French pigeon farm using a circular-economy model while protecting the ecological environment and improving economic efficiency.
Hoang Thi Nam of Chu ward won third prize for a technique to graft and improve Taiwan and Xuan jujube varieties, including converting Taiwan jujube trees onto Xuan jujube rootstocks to improve yields, quality and economic returns while promoting sustainable cultivation.

The team of Luong Ngoc Duy and Nguyen Van Quynh from Tay Yen Tu commune received a consolation prize for improvements to the cultivation and care process for purple Morinda officinalis, a medicinal plant.
The programme aims to recognise farmers and scientists whose inventions and technical solutions have been effectively applied in agricultural production, while encouraging innovation, circular agriculture and higher-value farm products.
