The city aims to raise average housing floor space to 40 square metres per person by 2030, including 42 square metres per person in urban areas and 36.3 square metres in rural areas.

For commercial housing, Bac Ninh plans to develop, complete and put into use about 72.62 million square metres of floor space during 2026-2030, equivalent to around 511,600 units.

Of the planned 128,800-plus units, about 105,600 will be social housing units for low-income groups, with a total floor area of 6.22 million square metres.

Housing for the armed forces is expected to total nearly 5,100 units, covering about 356,400 square metres, while more than 18,200 rental units for workers are planned, with a total floor area of over 912,000 square metres.

Total investment needed for housing development during the 2026-2030 period is estimated at about 718.5 trillion VND (27.6 billion USD).

Commercial housing, urban areas and residential areas are expected to require about 637.6 trillion VND, while social housing will need around 80.8 trillion VND.
