Updated: 09:43, 04/11/2026

BAC NINH - The Vietnam Tourism Economics Institute, under the Vietnam Tourism Association, has organised a familiarisation trip (famtrip) and a seminar entitled "Connecting to develop green tourism tours in Bac Ninh", attracting more than 40 experts, representatives of travel companies and journalists.

The delegation visited a range of cultural, spiritual, ecological and community-based tourism destinations across the city.

The famtrip delegation visits the Hoang Hoa Tham Historical Site in Yen The Commune.

Among the sites was Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Tan An Ward, which houses Buddhist sutra woodblocks recognised by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage under the Memory of the World Programme for Asia and the Pacific.

The group also visited Dong Thong Ecotourism Site and explored the cultural life of the Dao ethnic community in Mau Village, Tay Yen Tu Commune.

At Tay Yen Tu Services JSC, participants learned about the company's transition towards green tourism through measures including installing waste-sorting bins, using solar-powered lighting and introducing a handbook outlining green tourism criteria.

The delegation also surveyed several other destinations, including Thung Lung Trang, Coi Nguon and Binh Yen Gia Trang in Luc Son Commune, the Hoang Hoa Tham Historical Site in Yen The Commune and the Ban Ven community-based tourism site in Xuan Luong Commune.

At Ban Ven, participants visited tea hills and learned about waste-sorting systems, solar energy use and environmentally friendly homestay accommodation in traditional stilt houses.

As part of the programme, experts, travel businesses and tourism management agencies attended the seminar on connecting stakeholders to develop green tourism tours in Bac Ninh.

Discussions focused on assessing the potential and current development of green tourism, as well as the feasibility of linking destinations into integrated tour packages. Participants also shared experience and proposed solutions to improve tourism products in line with market demand.

The survey and seminar are expected to help promote the local tourism sector's potential and strengths, strengthen links between businesses, destinations and local communities, and gradually develop green tourism tours associated with heritage conservation and the promotion of Bac Ninh's cultural identity.
