The joint statements cover deepening the Vietnam-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership, economic resilience cooperation, and closer connectivity in science, technology and innovation.

On agriculture, Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry signed a memorandum of understanding on agriculture and sustainable rural development.

Two of the documents deal with security. The Vietnam Coast Guard and the Australian Border Force agreed on maritime law enforcement cooperation, while the Border Guard High Command under Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense signed a separate memorandum with the Australian Border Force on border protection and mutual support.

Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training and Australia's Department of Employment and Workplace Relations signed a memorandum on vocational education. The two governments also concluded an agreement on digital economy cooperation.

Health cooperation was covered by a memorandum between Vietnam's Ministry of Health and Australia's Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. The two sides additionally signed a protocol amending and supplementing their air services agreement.

The Vietnamese leader's state visit to Australia, running Aug. 9 to 12, is aimed at strengthening high-level political trust, giving fresh momentum to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and setting cooperation priorities for the coming period.

The visit also gives the two countries' leaders room for in-depth discussions on regional and international issues, closer coordination through multilateral mechanisms, and a restatement of their shared commitment to peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.
