About 550,000 visitors flock to Bac Ninh during Lunar New Year holiday
BAC NINH – Bac Ninh province welcomed around 550,000 visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday for the Year of the Horse 2026 (February 14–22), up 30% from the same period in 2025, local authorities said.
Total tourism revenue was estimated at about 450 billion VND (17.2 million USD), a year-on-year increase of 32%, while average room occupancy at accommodation facilities reached between 55% and 65%.

Favorable sunny weather helped draw large numbers of residents and tourists to spring outings, historical and cultural relics, and spiritual tourism sites.
Popular destinations included special national relic sites such as the Ly Dynasty Kings’ Mausoleum and Temple Complex, Dau Pagoda, But Thap Pagoda, Phat Tich Pagoda, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Bo Da Pagoda, the Hoang Hoa Tham Historical Site and the Xuong Giang Victory Site.
Other notable attractions were Ba Chua Kho Temple, the mausoleum and temple dedicated to Kinh Duong Vuong, and Cung Temple and Ngoc Well in Viem Xa residential quarter (also known as Diem village). Many sites received thousands of visitors per day on average.
Notably, the Ly Dynasty Kings’ Mausoleum and Temple Complex continued to welcome more than 2,000 visitors arriving on “Hanoi’s Five Ancient Gates” tourist train services, contributing to diversification of visitor sources and cultural tourism products.
Provincial cultural institutions such as Bac Ninh Museum No. 1, Bac Ninh Museum No. 2, the Dong Ho Folk Painting Conservation Center and Bac Ninh Temple of Literature organized various heritage exhibitions and cultural experience activities.
Among them, the four-day “Spring Journey to the Land of Quan Ho” programme at Bac Ninh Museum No. 2 drew large crowds to explore displays of traditional Tet specialties of the Kinh Bac region, combined with performances of Quan ho folk singing, then singing, water puppetry, Dong Ho painting printing and woodblock printing.
