On October 17, Watanabe Hiroyuki, Chairman of the Aeon 1% Club Foundation, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to present a cash donation equivalent to 50,000 USD to assist those impacted by Storms Bualoi and Matmo in Vietnam.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Watanabe expressed deep sympathy for the heavy human and material losses caused by the disasters, saying Aeon and its foundation, as a business operating in Vietnam, wish to contribute to post-disaster recovery and help affected residents stabilise their lives as soon as possible.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu highly valued the goodwill and practical support extended by Aeon and the Aeon 1% Club Foundation, expressing his hope that Aeon will serve as an inspiration and model for other Japanese enterprises operating in Vietnam.

Established in 1989 as part of the Aeon group, the Aeon 1% Club Foundation is funded by subsidiary companies that contribute 1% of their pre-tax profits to support initiatives in environmental protection, international cultural exchange, human resources development, and local community engagement.

In Vietnam, the foundation has implemented a range of effective projects in education and environmental protection.
