Bac Giang: Industrial production of FDI sector increases 34.3 percent

(BGO) – The industrial production of the northern province of Bac Giang hit over 11.2 trillion VND (492.8 million USD) in August, an increase of 3.3 percent compared to the previous month, reported the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

The figure reached nearly 69 trillion VND (3.03 billion USD) in the first eight months of this year, rising 30.6 percent year-on-year.

Of the sum, the industrial production of the State-owned economic sector was more than 4 trillion VND (176 million USD), up 21.8 percent and that of the non-State economic sector was 10.5 trillion VND (462 million USD), up 16.8 percent.

Meanwhile, the foreign-invested sector’s industrial production hit 54.5 trillion VND (2.4 billion USD), a rise of 34.4 percent year-on-year.

According to a survey, some industries have enjoyed stronger growth compared to the same period last year, including processing and manufacturing, electricity production and distribution, gas, hot water, steam, water supply as well as garbage and wastewater management and treatment.

Besides, since the start of the year, policies to improve the province’s business environment have contributed to drawing dozens of new investment projects in the locality.
