Bac Ninh encourages businesses to build and promote brands

Updated: 14:26, 18/08/2026

BAC NINH - From locally distinctive products to brands reaching international markets, businesses in Bac Ninh province are gradually building their value through quality, innovation and credibility, helping promote the province as a dynamic, innovative and increasingly integrated economic hub.

From quality products to trusted brands

Nguyen Kim Tuyen, Director of Thien Long HP Electrical Machinery JSC in Gia Binh commune, said his company was established in 2018, evolving from a family-run mechanical workshop.

Through production improvements and innovation, the company has developed a range of water pumps and oxygen-generating paddle wheels for aquaculture.

Six of its products have been recognised as outstanding rural industrial products at provincial, regional and national levels.

In 2025, its water-cooled, energy-saving oxygen-generating paddle wheel for shrimp and fish farming was recognised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as a national outstanding rural industrial product.

Tuyen said the company's products have a domestic content rate of about 72%, competitive prices, energy-saving features and high durability, making them suitable for aquaculture conditions.

Their quality and reputation have enabled the products to be sold domestically and exported to South Korea, Ecuador and Iran.

Bac Ninh currently has 258 outstanding rural industrial products, including 206 recognised at provincial level, 40 at regional level and 12 at national level.

They range from handicrafts and processed agricultural, forestry and aquatic products to food, equipment, machinery and mechanical components.

Nguyen Xuan Viet, Director of Vifoco Import-Export JSC, said the company's canned lychee in syrup was recognised as an outstanding rural industrial product at provincial, regional and national levels in 2021.

The recognition encouraged the company to continue improving quality and expanding markets. Its products are now sold domestically and exported in volumes of dozens of tonnes each year.

The provincial Department of Industry and Trade said recognition of outstanding rural industrial products helps improve businesses' reputation and commercial value, expand markets and create jobs and incomes.

Many Bac Ninh products have reached demanding markets including Europe, the United States, South Korea and Australia, contributing to the province's brand image and value.

Building brand strategies

Despite these gains, businesses and cooperatives in Bac Ninh still face challenges, including limited high-tech content, modest export volumes and value, and relatively few products becoming deeply integrated into global supply chains.

To address this, Bac Ninh has issued its 2026 provincial brand development plan.

The plan aims to raise awareness among authorities, businesses, cooperatives, producers and residents about the role of brands, while shifting the focus from growth in scale towards quality, credibility, innovation, added value and sustainable competitiveness.

The province will support businesses in building, managing, protecting and developing their brands, particularly in manufacturing, electronics, supporting industries, trade, services, traditional craft villages, agricultural products, food, OCOP products and other key products.

The goal is to develop strong brands capable of joining domestic and international value chains.

Alongside communications and consultancy support, the province will select outstanding businesses in electronics, high technology, supporting industries, processing and manufacturing for targeted brand development assistance.

Nguyen Cuong, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association, said businesses must understand that a brand is more than a logo, trademark or advertising campaign. It is built on product quality, technology, standards, credibility and the ability to meet market demand.

He urged businesses to develop brand strategies, register intellectual property protection, improve quality standards and traceability, upgrade packaging and labelling, and expand the use of e-commerce and digital communications.

For the provincial authorities, Cuong said support should reach the right businesses and address their actual needs, with clear information on eligibility, procedures and timelines.

The effectiveness of the policy should be measured by tangible results, including new markets, customers and orders.

“When businesses see practical benefits, the policy will build trust and encourage more companies to take the initiative in developing their brands,” he said.
