The programme will help manufacturers and cooperatives access and develop cross-border e-commerce, enabling them to sell products directly to international consumers through Amazon.com, initially targeting the U.S. market.
It will also link online sales with warehousing, packaging, order fulfilment and international shipping services, helping establish an integrated local supply chain combining cross-border e-commerce, logistics and exports.
Eligible participants include branded manufacturers with international potential, as well as companies in industrial manufacturing, supporting industries, consumer goods, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics.
Cooperatives and businesses producing agricultural products, processed food, One Commune One Product (OCOP) goods, traditional handicrafts and other distinctive products from Bac Ninh are also encouraged to participate.
Businesses joining the programme will receive guidance and advice from experts from Amazon Global Selling Vietnam Co. Ltd. and BGL.
They will be guided through the process of selling on Amazon, including setting up and operating online stores, conducting market research and optimising promotional content. They will also gain access to solutions for warehousing, packaging and international shipping.
Participants will receive information on trade policies, technical barriers and trade promotion opportunities to help them better prepare for international markets.
The Department of Industry and Trade has called on relevant agencies, organisations and business associations to step up communications so that local businesses can learn about the programme and register to participate.
