Bac Ninh industrial production index rises 20.21% in eight months
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh's industrial production index (IIP) rose 20.21% in the first eight months of 2026, with manufacturing continuing to drive growth, according to Bac Ninh Statistics.
In August, the province's IIP increased 22.15% from a year earlier, as businesses continued to build up inventories of inputs to guard against supply chain disruptions and energy price volatility amid continued global uncertainty.

The IIP rose 2.89% from July. Mining output fell 3.11%, while manufacturing and processing rose 2.99%. Electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning production and distribution fell 11.88%, while water supply and waste and wastewater management rose 2.23%.
On an annual basis, mining output increased 3.43%, manufacturing and processing rose 22.22%, electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning production and distribution increased 17.3%, while water supply and waste and wastewater management rose 16.11%.
In the January-August period, manufacturing and processing, which accounts for the largest share of industrial output, increased 20.3%. Mining fell 2.18%, while electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning production and distribution rose 12.82%. Water supply and waste and wastewater management increased 24.23%.
The province attributed the August growth to Bac Ninh's continued appeal to domestic and foreign investors, along with rising foreign direct investment, particularly in manufacturing and processing at key industrial parks including Quang Chau, Van Trung, Song Khe - Noi Hoang, Que Vo 2 and Yen Phong 2.
Several key products posted strong growth in the first eight months. Other imported and exported peripheral equipment output was estimated at 581 million units, up 46.9%, while other printed circuit boards reached 672 million units, up 42.4%.
Output of smartphones priced from 6 million VND to less than 10 million VND was estimated at 3.023 million units, up 54.4% from a year earlier.
