Of the 1,800 hectares cleared, 1,256 hectares are agricultural land, 53.4 hectares are residential land and more than 531 hectares are other types of land.

The progress follows Bac Ninh's intensified efforts to accelerate land clearance, with authorities mobilising personnel, setting up communication teams and permanent field teams that worked through holidays and weekends to complete assigned tasks.

As the airport is a key national project that is required to be operational in time to serve the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the central government and Bac Ninh province have introduced a number of special policies and stepped up land clearance efforts.

The province aims to complete the handover of the entire site by the end of this year, enabling the investor to accelerate construction and complete the Gia Binh International Airport project.
