The opening ceremony was attended by Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Thi Huong, permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial delegation to the National Assembly, Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

The provincial leaders give commemorative flags and flowers to the participating teams.

The event started with the parade of participating contingents. After the parade, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai lighted up the traditional flame at the festival’s cauldron.

In the opening remark by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, he stressed the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Ninh province have defined sports not merely forms of physical exercise, but also a source of spiritual strength and an integral part of culture.

They constitute an important component of the strategy for human and community development, contributing to developing a civilized and healthy lifestyle and helping to prevent social evils.

He added, in the new stage of development as a centrally governed city, Bac Ninh is committed to prioritizing resources for comprehensive development of mass sports, making targeted investments in high-achievement sports, harnessing science and technology to develop a smart sports model, while closely integrating sports with culture and tourism, promoting sports diplomacy and advancing international integration.

For a successful festival, he expected the referees, coaches and athletes to raise high sense of responsibility, secure discipline and strictly obey the rules and regulations of the Organizing Committee.

The athletes were urged to compete in the spirit of solidarity, integrity, sportsmanship and advancement, constantly striving to strengthen their determination and push beyond their own limits to set new records.

Their achievements will help to showcase the resilience, compassion and aspirations of the people of Bac Ninh – Kinh Bac, who are determined to reach greater heights.
