Bac Ninh photo exhibition showcases province’s past and present

Updated: 21:10, 18/09/2026

BAC NINH - Nearly 300 photographs documenting the history, culture and development of Bac Ninh province are on display at an exhibition titled “Bac Ninh: Past and Present”, which opened on September 18.

The exhibition, held at the Bac Ninh Provincial Culture and Exhibition Centre, is organised by the provincial Journalists Association in cooperation with Bac Ninh Newspaper, Radio and Television and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It forms part of activities to celebrate the establishment of centrally run Bac Ninh city.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Phuong delivers remarks at the exhibition opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening, Chairman of the provincial Journalists Association Trinh Van Anh said generations of journalists and photographers had captured important events and moments, preserving memories of Bac Ninh for future generations.

The photographs were selected from thousands of images and valuable documents preserved by agencies, organisations, journalists and photographers.

Provincial leaders and delegates cut the ribbon to open the exhibition.

The exhibition also features historical materials provided by the Bac Ninh Historical Archives Centre, including documents on the province’s history through World Documentary Heritage.

Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong said the exhibition provides an opportunity to look back at Bac Ninh’s history, cultural heritage and major changes, while highlighting the province’s current development.

Delegates tour the exhibition area showcasing photographic works.

The exhibition is divided into four themes: President Ho Chi Minh, Party and State leaders and major events in Bac Ninh; the millennia-old cultural heritage of Bac Ninh-Kinh Bac; the province’s struggle for national liberation and its efforts to build and defend the country; and modern Bac Ninh’s integration and development.

The displays feature historic sites, cultural heritage, festivals, traditional craft villages and UNESCO-recognised heritage, alongside industrial parks, modern production lines, high-tech agriculture, digital transformation, urban development and social welfare.

Provincial leaders tour the exhibition area showcasing woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty.

A central display juxtaposes images of transport, urban areas and education from more than a century ago with their modern counterparts, offering visitors a visual perspective on Bac Ninh’s transformation through industrialisation and modernisation.

The exhibition is open to the public through September 21.
