Kinh Bac aims to build modern urban centre South of Cau River
BAC NINH - Following an administrative restructuring, Kinh Bac Ward in Bac Ninh province has expanded its development space and consolidated new resources and opportunities to accelerate growth, while working to address infrastructure bottlenecks and make more effective use of land to establish itself as a modern urban centre in the South of the Cau River.
Formed through the merger of six wards (Kinh Bac, Suoi Hoa, Tien Ninh Ve, Van An, Hoa Long and Khuc Xuyen), Kinh Bac now covers nearly 20 square kilometres and has a population of more than 88,000.

The expanded administrative area provides greater scope to reorganise development space and mobilise resources for coordinated investment, but also places higher demands on technical infrastructure management, urban order and residents' quality of life.
To address these challenges, the ward is working with relevant agencies to review planning and accelerate key urban development projects.
The 277-hectare Northwest New Urban Area (Area 1) is currently focused on compensation and site clearance, while detailed planning for a new urban area of about 48.5 hectares on the border between Kinh Bac and Vu Ninh has been approved.
The projects are being developed alongside coordinated technical infrastructure, parks, regulating lakes, green areas and water surfaces, helping create an ecological urban landscape, improve drainage, regulate the climate and ease pressure on existing urban areas.
The project to build technical infrastructure and auxiliary facilities at Van Mieu Park is expected to become a highlight of the ward's urban architecture and landscape. Once completed, the park will provide additional green space, improve the urban landscape and create a venue for community activities.
Identifying trade and services as its main growth drivers, Kinh Bac Ward aims to raise the share of services and tourism to more than 75% of its economic structure by 2030. It also targets annual growth in product value of 12.5%-13% and a 32%-35% increase in average per capita income from 2025 levels.

Digital transformation has been identified as a breakthrough to better serve residents and businesses, improve the effectiveness of urban management and mobilise social resources for development.
The ward is also upgrading commercial streets to make them more modern and professional, while linking trade development with strict enforcement of regulations on food safety, fire prevention and firefighting, environmental sanitation and transparent display of prices.
