Secretary of provincial Party Committee receives RoK land ministry delegation
BAC NINH - Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, on October 20 held a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, led by First Vice Minister Lee Sang-kyung.
At the meeting, Thai stated that more than 1,400 RoK enterprises are currently operating in the province, with a total registered capital of approximately 20 billion USD.

These businesses have made significant contributions to economic growth, job creation, and the transformation of Bac Ninh into one of Vietnam’s leading centres for industry and high technology.
These achievements vividly reflect the strong friendship and deep cooperation between Bac Ninh and RoK partners and localities, with the active support of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation.

The visit of the First Vice Minister and the delegation aims to promote cooperation in the field of urban development.
In particular, the Southeast New Urban Area project in the former Bac Ninh city is a key item within the framework of the Vietnam–RoK bilateral cooperation that has been endorsed by high-level leaders of both countries.
Bac Ninh province highly values the strategic importance of this project. During its implementation, the province is committed to providing strong support and creating the most favourable conditions possible within the framework of Vietnamese law and international commitments.

Currently, Bac Ninh is focusing its resources on the development of the Gia Binh International Airport project and roads connecting to Hanoi, aiming to create breakthroughs in regional infrastructure and urban spatial development.
Bac Ninh believes that upcoming cooperation projects will be implemented substantively and effectively, contributing to the province’s goal of becoming a centrally governed city and a hub of industry, services, education, and innovation in the Capital Region.

Providing an overview of the Southeast New Urban Area project in Bac Ninh province, the First Vice Minister emphasised that this is a project of national significance.
He expressed his hope that the project will continue to receive strong support and attention from the provincial authorities. The ministry and relevant RoK agencies will accelerate legal procedures as required to expedite project progress.
He also expressed hope that in the future, not only the Southeast Urban Area project but also many other Korean projects will be implemented in the province.
The First Vice Minister affirmed that in his capacity, he will work closely with the province to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. In addition to the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, he pledged to attract more Korean enterprises and investors to Bac Ninh.
