Viettel Bac Giang presents nearly 18,000 4G phones to customers

Updated: 15:51, 02/10/2024

BAC GIANG - Viettel Military Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel Telecom) has decided to present free 4G phones to all remaining 2G phone users who have not been able to upgrade their service.

Accordingly, this will benefit nearly 18,000 customers in Bac Giang, including over 2,000 customers in each district of Hiep Hoa, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Lang Giang districts and Viet Yen township, nearly 1,900 customers in Bac Giang city and 710 – 1,700 customers in each of remaining localities.

Staff of Viettel Bac Giang support local people in the mountainous area of Son Dong to upgrade from 2G to 4G network.

This activity proves social responsibility of the enterprise towards the community so as to promptly share the difficulties with customers, especially the elderly, farmers and workers affected by the recent storm No. 3.

In Bac Giang, the phone gifting program is applied from now until October 15, 2024. The supported phone models are 4G phones that meet basic calling and listening needs, have large keyboards, clear volume and voice support function when dialing numbers, which is suitable for elderly customers.

The whole province has more than 1.3 million customers using mobile phones with Viettel network services. Actively implementing many incentive programs helps Viettel Bac Giang sharply reduce the number of 2G subscribers and increase the number of 4G customers, meeting the requirements of comprehensive digital transformation in social life.

Previously, on September 13, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular No. 10/2024/TT-BTTTT allowing network operators to postpone the 2G shutdown date to October 15, 2024 to avoid disrupting communications, especially many are affected by storms and floods.
