Bac Giang ready for "Great Day"

Updated: 11:02, 30/06/2025

BAC GIANG - July 1, 2025 will mark a historic turning point for Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces as they officially merge and operate under a two-tier government model (provincial and commune levels). This is not only a change in administrative boundaries but also opens up great opportunities for economic, cultural, and social development in the historically rich Kinh Bac region.

Ahead of this important moment, the atmosphere in many localities has become "hot" by hour with urgent and drastic preparations.

Officials and civil servants of the Party Committee of Kinh Bac ward are arranging their new workplaces.

A similar sense of urgency has been observed in Bac Giang ward — a new administrative unit formed by merging seven former wards of Bac Giang city.

The headquarters of the new ward is located at the People’s Committee offices of Dinh Ke and Ngo Quyen wards. The signboards have not yet been changed because the former wards continue their duties until June 30, but inside, the renovation and installation of new office signs have basically been completed.

At noon on Sunday (June 29), the leadership of the new Bac Giang ward was still holding meetings to review and finalise assigned tasks in preparation for the official merger announcement ceremony on June 30, held in the ward.

The Public Administrative Service Centre of Yen Dung ward is ready to begin operations.

Specialised units are busy completing their work, ready to operate the new apparatus immediately after the merger.

At the Bac Giang provincial inter-agency office building (Building A), the transfer of assets and equipment from Bac Ninh is in full swing.

Many officials from the former Bac Ninh provincial departments have arrived to clean up and arrange their new workplaces. At the Bac Giang Party Committee headquarters, which will house the new Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee, soldiers from Regiment 831 are actively assisting officials and civil servants in moving and arranging equipment, preparing the new office space.

Lieutenant Le Huy Hieu, in charge of the officers and soldiers here, said: “We started assisting from June 28. To meet the deadline, the team works continuously from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, striving to complete the basic tasks before the crucial time.”

In Bac Ninh city, the preparation atmosphere is also vibrant. Major streets such as Ly Thai To, Kinh Duong Vuong, and Tran Hung Dao are brightly decorated with flags and flowers.

It is expected that after the merger, more than 1,580 officials and civil servants from the former Bac Ninh will move to work at provincial-level agencies located in Bac Giang ward.

Although the workplace locations have changed, most officials are fully aware of their responsibilities.

At this time, the new Bac Ninh provincial Public Administrative Service Centre and the online public service system are also ready to update administrative unit changes, ensuring that residents can easily access procedures quickly and efficiently.

The new digital platform integrates all communes and wards in the province into a unified and seamless administrative network.

With less than 24 hours to go, the new Bac Ninh province will officially begin operations. This is not only an administrative event but also a milestone opening hopes for a strong economic and cultural centre in the Kinh Bac region.

From urban to rural areas, from grassroots officials to residents, everyone is looking toward July 1 with confidence and expectations.

Despite many challenges and tasks ahead, the proactive and determined spirit from Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces is creating new momentum, ready for a long-term and sustainable development journey.
