Indian-funded rural road inaugurated in Bac Ninh

BAC NINH – On June 30, the Hiep Hoa District People’s Committee, in cooperation with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, inaugurated a project to upgrade and widen Dong hamlet road in Cam Bao village, Xuan Cam commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac  Giang province (Bac Ninh province from July 1, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by Indian Ambassador Sandeep Arya and Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of Bac Giang People’s Committee.

The delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the road.

The project used India’s Quick Impact Fund, with construction starting on May 13, 2025 and completing after 20 days. The road, over 500 meters long, was expanded to meet rural transport standards at a total cost of 50,000 USD funded by the Indian Embassy.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Arya said the project is part of India’s community development support programme implemented in various Vietnamese localities to improve residents’ quality of life.

He expressed confidence that the road will contribute positively to the local new-style rural development program and exemplify the strong friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and India.

Hiep Hoa district leaders extended their gratitude to the Government and people of India. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officials and residents toured the new road.
