Bac Giang smoothly consumes over 120,000 tonnes of lychee with high price
Vice Chairman of Luc Ngan district People’s Committee Nguyen The Thi said Luc Ngan lychees are sold at 10 to 25,000 VND per kg depending on each type. Particularly the fruits are bought at 30,000 VND per kg at the weighting points in Giap Son and Tan Quang communes. The lychees for high demanding market are sold at 30-35,000 VND per kg (with contracts inked previously).

As of July 3, the province consumed over 120,000 tonnes of lychee, including nearly 52,000 tonnes of early ripening ones, reported the Department of Industry and Trade.
The province exported more than 53,000 tonnes to the countries of China, Cambodia, Japan, the US, EU, Thailand, Australia and Republic of Korea. About 100 trucks carrying Bac Giang lychees daily pass three border gates of Tan Thanh and Huu Nghi (Lang Son province) and Kim Thanh (Lao Cai province) to China. At the same time, over 25,000 tonnes of lychee were consumed domestically at the wholesale markets and supermarkets.

Recently, many visitors have flocked to the lychee hub of Luc Ngan to experience the land of sweet fruit, especially in weekend (some 10,000 people per week). The destination attracts both domestic and foreign tourists from China, Republic of Korea, the US and Japan.
