The committee reviewed the results of the “Red Blood Drops – Summer” campaign and the 14th Red Journey programme at a meeting on the morning of October 15.

A total of 27 blood donation events were held across the city, attracting more than 15,000 participants and collecting 15,055 units of safe blood.

By August 31, the committee had coordinated 76 voluntary blood donation events with agencies, organisations and local units.

More than 48,000 people registered to donate, and 47,158 units of blood were collected, equivalent to 104% of the 2026 annual target set by the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation.

At the meeting, the Bac Ninh Red Cross presented certificates of merit to 20 organisations and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the summer campaign.

It also honoured 117 individuals who had each donated blood 15 times in 2026.

Each unit of donated blood represents more than a medical resource, he said, offering renewed life, hope and survival opportunities for patients in critical condition while strengthening community bonds and contributing to public health protection and care, he stated.

This year’s Red Journey campaign will take place in June and July, with a target of collecting 120,000 units of blood, including 25,000 units at main events and 95,000 units through response activities.
