The firm specialises in strategy consulting and transaction advisory services and is part of one of the world’s major audit and consulting networks.
Based on the city’s potential, advantages and existing tourism challenges, the consultancy proposed prioritising products that can attract visitors on a regular basis.
These include Buddhist heritage tours, paid experiential activities, food services, shopping and the night-time economy.
It also recommended upgrading visitor reception facilities, improving tourism amenities, developing conference centres and building an ecosystem for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).
The MPC Standing Vice Chairman Mai Son called on the consultancy to conduct more in-depth research into developing the creative economy based on cultural industries and the distinctive traditional values of the locality.
He said new ideas were needed to preserve and promote heritage while transforming cultural resources into tourism products with greater economic value and competitiveness.
Concluding the meeting, MPC Chairman Pham Hoang Son said Bac Ninh had completed its general planning schemes, urban plans and overall tourism development project.
The consultancy should align its proposals with existing planning orientations while taking into account the city’s actual potential, advantages and available resources, he said.
The proposed strategy should offer innovative and practical solutions with a clear focus and the potential to drive breakthroughs in tourism development.
