Bac Ninh invests in tourism infrastructure to attract more visitors
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh is gradually upgrading its transport network and tourism facilities to improve connectivity between destinations and enhance services for visitors. However, the city needs further investment in integrated infrastructure and large-scale projects to fully tap its tourism potential.
Recognising infrastructure as a key driver of tourism development, the city has mobilised and combined public investment resources to build major roads, internal transport routes and tourism-related facilities.

Many transport projects have been completed and put into operation, improving infrastructure and links between tourist destinations.
With convenient connections to Hanoi, Noi Bai International Airport and neighbouring localities, Bac Ninh is also poised to benefit from the expected opening of Gia Binh International Airport in 2027, which could help expand its tourism market and attract more international visitors.
Tourism accommodation and facilities have also expanded. The city currently has 1,057 accommodation establishments, including six five-star hotels, 22 hotels rated one to three stars and 106 hotels meeting minimum standards. It also has 39 recognised tourist areas and destinations, including one city-level tourism site.
At Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Tan An Ward, a heritage site within the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac complex recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site, restoration work is being carried out alongside improvements to facilities for visitors.
Under an approved project to restore and upgrade the special national relic, covering 1.36 hectares, construction of several facilities had largely been completed as of October 20, 2026.
These include two Buddhist lecture halls, two corridors, a front courtyard, landscaped green areas, the pagoda courtyard and the three-entrance gate.
Do Ngoc Quy, deputy director of the Tan An Construction Project Management Board, said the unit was implementing a project to build and renovate supporting facilities at the pagoda, with total investment of about 17 billion VND (658,000 USD).
The project includes an approximately 8,000-square-metre car park, paved pavements along Provincial Road 299C from the parking area to the pagoda access road, paving in front of the pagoda, internal walking paths and a lighting system. It is expected to be completed in early March 2027.
Facilities are also being gradually improved at other destinations, including Bo Da Pagoda in Van Ha Ward, Do Temple in Tu Son Ward, Suoi Mo in Nghia Phuong Commune, the Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism area in Tay Yen Tu Commune, Ban Ven Xanh in Xuan Luong Commune and Bau Tien in Kien Lao Commune.
Infrastructure improvements have helped support tourism growth. Bac Ninh welcomed 6.3 million visitors in 2025, including more than 350,000 international arrivals, generating total tourism revenue of 5.5 trillion VND.
In the first nine months of 2026, the city received 5.8 million visitors, up 7% from a year earlier. Tourism revenue was estimated at more than 5.2 trillion VND, equivalent to 80% of the annual target and up 9% year on year.
