BAC NINH - Nguyen Hong Thai, a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee recently visited and held talks with Samsung Electronics Vietnam at the Yen Phong I Industrial Park in Bac Ninh province.

He was accompanied by Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, members of the provincial Standing Committee and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.

Bac Ninh provincial leaders Nguyen Hong Thai and Pham Hoang Son present flowers and gifts from the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial People’s Committee and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee to officials and workers of Samsung Viet Nam.

Samsung representatives included Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam and Kim Iee Soo, General Director of Samsung Electronics Bac Ninh–Thai Nguyen.

Welcoming the delegation, Na Ki Hong said he was honoured to receive the provincial Party Secretary and local leaders.

He said Samsung currently operates three manufacturing entities in Bac Ninh, including Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV), Samsung Display Vietnam (SDIV) and Samsung SDV, with a combined area of about 100 hectares.

After years of development, Samsung Bac Ninh has become a key manufacturing base, making significant contributions to the group’s global success, he said.

In 2025, Samsung Vietnam recorded revenue of 64.9 billion USD, export turnover of 57.1 billion USD and cumulative investment exceeding 24 billion USD.

Speaking on behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Hong Thai thanked Na Ki Hong and Samsung’s leadership for their warm reception.

He said Bac Ninh highly values Samsung’s role as a strategic investor and leading partner that has been closely linked to the province’s development for more than 15 years, since the group began operations at the Yen Phong Industrial Park in 2008.

South Korean companies account for more than 46% of total foreign direct investment in Bac Ninh’s industrial parks, with 746 active projects and registered capital of about 18.3 billion USD, Nguyen Hong Thai said. Samsung plays a core role in this landscape, generating strong spillover effects in technology, supply chains and modern manufacturing standards.

The provincial leader hoped Samsung will continue expanding investment in high-tech and core technologies, strengthen research and development activities, and support Vietnamese firms in deeper participation in Samsung’s global supply chain, helping build a sustainable industrial ecosystem with international competitiveness.
