Samsung Vietnam seeks cooperation opportunities with Bac Ninh in IT training and STEM education

BAC NINH- On September 18, member of the provincial Standing Party Committee and permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Mai Son had a working session with the delegation of Samsung Vietnam led by Kim Yong Sup, Deputy General Director in charge of external affairs to discuss cooperation in information technology (IT) training and STEM-based education.

Speaking at the meeting, PPC permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son congratulated Samsung for its positive results in production and business and expressed his pleasure to receive the leaders of Samsung Vietnam to discuss cooperation in IT training and STEM-based education in Bac Ninh.

Kim Yong Sup stressed Samsung Vietnam has launched the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) since 2019, providing comprehensive education in cutting-edge digital technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, programming and soft skills.

Since the launching, 12,000 students from 95 schools and universities nationwide have benefited from SIC programme to improve high-tech capacities.

Kim Yong Sup provides information about Samsung Vietnam’s SIC project and expresses a desire to implement it in Bac Ninh.

Samsung expected the provincial leaders to facilitate and collaborate with Samsung to make plan to implement SIC courses in Bac Ninh for students at Bac Ninh College of Industry and Vietnam-Korea College of Technology.

In addition, Samsung Vietnam wanted to carry out IOT training for secondary and high school students through STEM-based education in Bac Ninh. If the plan goes smoothly, a pilot course is expected to run from late September until the end of this year.

Kim Yong Sup also committed to continuously fostering human resource training in line with production and business activities to contribute to promoting technological development and innovation in Samsung’s supply chain in Vietnam.

In his conclusion, PPC permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son assigned the Department of Education and Training as the focal agency to cooperate with representatives of Samsung to carry out surveys, evaluate scale and demand for IT human resource training in the province, which is expected to complete by October 15, 2025 as a basis for detailed implementation plans in coming time.
