Bac Ninh preserves Quan Ho folk singing through digital transformation and tourism push
BAC NINH – Kinh Bac ward has recently issued a plan to preserve and promote the heritage value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk singing, further implementing Vietnam’s commitments to UNESCO in a new context shaped by digital transformation and tourism development.
A key focus of the plan is accelerating the application of digital technology in heritage preservation and promotion. Authorities will study and build a digital database system on Quan Ho folk songs, including digitising lyrics, ancient melodies, traditional music and a list of artisans on digital platforms.

The database is expected to serve archiving, management, research and teaching purposes, while contributing to heritage promotion linked to tourism development. Digital tools will also be used to enhance visitor experiences at historical sites and connect with the national cultural heritage database.
In parallel, the ward plans to develop a tourism website and social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, featuring functions that allow users to look up information on relic sites and festivals, view locations and directions on digital maps, and take 360-degree virtual tours of historical sites.
Recordings and videos of folk artisans performing traditional Quan Ho melodies will also be produced and shared online.
Local authorities are encouraging youth union members and young people to take part in preserving and promoting the heritage through modern communication formats, including short videos and social media clips.
The initiative aims to tell local cultural stories from a creative youth perspective and further spread the value of Quan Ho heritage.
