Quan ho singer wins Gold at Asian Arts Festival

BAC NINH – Vietnamese female singer Minh Ngoc (born 2004) from Thuan Thanh ward (Bac Ninh province) won Gold in the professional vocal category at the 2025 Asian Arts Festival with her performance of “Gui ve quan ho” by composer Duc Mieng.

The 2025 Asian Arts Festival featuring artists from 14 Asian countries, is a prestigious platform for young talents.

Minh Ngoc wins Gold in the professional vocal category at the 2025 Asian Arts Festival.

Minh Ngoc, full name Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, is a third-year student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the 2018 champion of Tuyet Dinh Song Ca Nhi. She is renowned for her performances showcasing Bac Ninh’s quan ho folk music.

Singer Minh Ngoc (with microphone) performs in the programme “Bac Ninh – A millennium of heritage, aspiration in a new era”.

Her rendition impressed judges with the technical finesse, emotional depth and elegant costume selection highlighting Vietnam’s cultural heritage. Her modernised four-part traditional dress of Kinh Bac region charmed organisers, creating a distinct stage presence.

This achievement not only honours Minh Ngoc’s efforts but also promotes Vietnamese music globally.
