Bac Ninh promotes business support, investment attraction from Japan
BAC NINH- The provincial People’s Committee (PPC) of Bac Ninh province on July 9 hosted a conference with Japanese investors to foster dialouges and timely address obstacles facing them during their investment, production and business in the province while fostering promotion of the province’s potentials, advantages and investment climate to attract more high-quality investment capital from Japan.
In his opening remark, PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh stressed Vietnam and Japan have developed the traditional, friendly, reliable and comprehensively cooperative ties.

Japan is also an important partner to Bac Ninh province, who have brought them capital, technologies and advanced administration. Many giant corporations selected Bac Ninh to settle down.
To date, Bac Ninh has attracted around 3,600 FDI projects with total registered capital of over 50.6 billion USD including 125 projects from Japan with approx. 2 billion USD of capital.

The province’s GRDP in the first half of 2026 increased by 10.56 percent. In the new stage, Bac Ninh will target selective investment with priority for cutting-edge technologies, semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), supporting industries, logistics and R&D.
The province will also focus on developing smart and circular industrial ecosystems with infrastructure meeting international standards while accompanying businesses on the carbon neutrality roadmap.
Bac Ninh province highly respected the values brought by Japanese enterprises. The provincial leader expected Japanese Embassy, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and VCCI to spread the image of Bac Ninh province as safe, relible and effective investment destination.

According to Vice President of VCCI Hoang Quang Phong, Bac Ninh has tremendous opportunities to enter a new phase of cooperation with Japan.
He added, in order to promote investment attraction from Japan, the province needs to become a regional high-tech and semiconductor manufacturing center, luring AI, semiconductor chip, robotic, automatic equipment, R&D center and emerging industry projects.
Besides, it should intensify cooperation in high-quality human resource training among Japanese enterprises and universities, colleges and vocational training institutions in the province to meet the requirements of emerging technology industries.

Watanabe Takakazu, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Japan to Vietnam said, it is necessary for Bac Ninh province to develop high-quality human resources.
The province also needs to continue investing in traffic infrastructure to shorten the distance from Bac Ninh province to Hanoi and Hai Phong.
He highly evaluated Bac Ninh’s efforts in establishment of Japan Desk, which will help Japanese enterprises reassure their businesses and encourage them to invest more in Bac Ninh.
According to Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of the Foreign Investment Agency (under the Ministry of Finance), Bac Ninh is qualified to transfer from a manufacturing center into an innovation and high-tech industrial hub of northern region.
The province needs to continue prioritizing semiconductor, new-generation electronics, smart- device, automatic equipment, high-quality supporting industries and R&D center projects.
On this occasion, PPC Chairman Pham Hoang Son gave land use right certificate to Aeonmall Vietnam Company Limited.
Besides, the Japan Investment Promotion and Support Task Force (Japan Desk) was debuted at this event, which is aimed at accompanying and effectively supporting Japanese businesses to invest in the province.
