According to the plan issued by the Tien Du communal People’s Committee, the Lim Festival will take place over two days from Feb. 28 to March 1, corresponding to the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month.

Events will be held across seven villages of the former Noi Due area, now part of Tien Du commune, with Lim Hill (Hong Van Mountain) serving as the central venue.

The ceremonial part of the festival will include incense-offering rituals to mark the opening at Hong An Pagoda and traditional rites at the tomb of General Nguyen Dinh Dien.

A highlight of the event will be the ceremony to receive the certificate recognising the Lim Festival as a national intangible cultural heritage, to be held at the main stage on Lim Hill. Processions, worship ceremonies and incense offerings will also take place at communal houses, temples and pagodas in villages hosting the festival, in line with traditional customs.

The festival’s recreational programme will feature Quan Ho folk singing performances and exchanges at six designated Quan Ho tents, as well as performances on boats, at pagoda gates, water pavilions, artists’ houses and the central stage.

Other activities include folk games such as to tom diem, Chinese chess, calligraphy displays and poetry gatherings, alongside cultural performances at the main stage.

In addition, the festival will host provincial-level freestyle and traditional wrestling tournaments, along with traditional games such as swing riding, blindfolded goat catching and pot smashing.

Food, entertainment and recreational activities will also be organised at the festival centre and surrounding villages.
