Bac Ninh wins top honour at national folk music festival
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh's art troupe won the overall Gold Medal at the 2026 National Folk Music and Singing Festival, which concluded in the central city of Hue.
Held from July 4 to July 8, the festival brought together nearly 1,200 artists and performers from 26 amateur art troupes representing provinces and cities across Vietnam.

The participating delegations showcased a wide range of performances highlighting the cultural heritage and traditional music of the country's three regions.
Bac Ninh's programme, titled "Bac Ninh - Land of Heritage", featured six performances and earned one Gold Medal and three Silver Medals in individual categories.

The Gold Medal was awarded to "Phung Quan Te Hoi", a traditional Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk song performed with original lyrics.
Three Silver Medals went to "Toi La Con Trai Bac Ninh", a traditional unaccompanied Quan Ho performance, "Cau Then Hoi Xuan", a Then singing performance, and "Fantasy Viet Nam", an instrumental duet.
With these results, Bac Ninh secured the festival's overall Gold Medal, while one member of the delegation received a certificate of merit from organisers for outstanding contributions to the event.
