Commercial electricity output increases 17.9%
BAC GIANG - The commercial electricity output in the first 6 months of the year reached 3,117 million kWh in Bac Giang province, an increase of 17.9% over the same period last year, 70.2 % of which was for industry and construction sector (up nearly 20.9%), reported the Bac Giang Power Company (Bac Giang PC).
The electricity output was high due to the sharp load increase in the province's industrial sector with many factories in industrial parks (such as expanded Vietnam – Korea, Quang Chau and Hoa Phu) coming into operation.

In addition, the province's service sector entered strong development stage after a quiet period due to the impact of the global economic recession.
Although electricity consumption has increased, the electricity sector still maintains a stable and safe supply for production and daily life.
During the recent hot weather period, there was no interruption in electricity supply. To have enough power source, at the end of 2023 and early this year, Bac Giang PC invested more than 200 billion VND (8.5 million USD) to build and renovate nearly 41 km of medium voltage lines; build 108 substations with a total capacity of 24,650 kVA; build and renovate nearly 288 km of low voltage lines.
Besides, the Northern Power Corporation also invested hundreds of billions of VND to complete many power projects such as: Tan Yen 110kV TBA transformer installation project (January 2024); 110 kV Van Trung 2 substation and branches (April 2024).
