FPT links Vietnamese, French businesses to advance AI transformation

Updated: 15:25, 21/06/2026

Present in France since 2008, FPT now serves as a technology partner to major enterprises including La Poste, Air Liquide, Quadient, Sagemcom, SNCF and Geopost. It aims to become one of the top 50 IT firms in France while further expanding its footprint across French-speaking markets.

Hundreds of business leaders and technology experts from Vietnam, France and other countries gathered at the France-Vietnam Business Forum 2026 in Paris on June 18 to discuss AI transformation, technological sovereignty and AI-driven business models.

The event, co-organised by Vietnam's tech giant FPT, and MEDEF International and Business France, followed the 2025 Vietnam–France Leaders Forum in Hanoi.

It took place amid growing momentum in the Vietnam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Speaking at the forum, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai highlighted new opportunities for cooperation in technology, innovation and investment following the elevation of bilateral ties.

He described Vietnam as a dynamic, open economy and an increasingly important growth hub in the Indo-Pacific region, while calling for stronger support for the early ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Benoît Clocheret, Chairman of the France-Vietnam Business Council under MEDEF International, said Vietnam is emerging as one of Asia’s most dynamic economies, driven by strong growth, an increasingly open business environment and the ability to rapidly implement large-scale projects.

He also described Vietnam’s decision to place digital technology, digital infrastructure and AI at the centre of its national development strategy as a positive signal for the French business community.

Representatives from French institutions and businesses noted Vietnam’s rapid economic growth, expanding digital infrastructure and strong commitment to AI and technological development.

They also highlighted the country’s young, skilled workforce and growing attractiveness as a destination for high-tech investment.

Participants focused discussions on sovereign AI, corporate AI adoption and strategies for scaling AI transformation. Many agreed that AI is becoming a key driver of competitiveness in the digital economy.

The forum came as the European Union accelerates efforts to strengthen technological autonomy and AI capabilities through initiatives such as its “AI Continent” action plan and broader AI adoption strategy.

FPT said it is currently delivering digital and AI transformation projects in 30 countries, including Japan, the US and Europe.

Present in France since 2008, FPT now serves as a technology partner to major enterprises including La Poste, Air Liquide, Quadient, Sagemcom, SNCF and Geopost. It aims to become one of the top 50 IT firms in France while further expanding its footprint across French-speaking markets.
