Bac Ninh increases social housing supply
BAC NINH- The development of social housing contributes to securing both social security and stable human resources for industrial parks, stimulating sustainable socio-economic development. With high determination to fulfill the set targets, Bac Ninh province is concentrating on speeding up progress of the projects, gradually increasing housing supply for workers.
Bac Ninh province has seen strong industrial development recently, attracting a big number of workers from several localities, which results in increasing demand for social housing.

31,221 social houses were completed in the 2021-2025 period in the entire province while it is targetted by the Central Government to fulfill 119,073 houses in the 2026-2039 period, including 19,900 houses in 2026.
Bac Ninh is currently implementing 16 social housing projects, mainly in the wards and communes with rapid urbanisation such as Bac Giang, Kinh Bac, Tu Son, Nenh, Que Vo, Yen Phong and Yen Dung.
At the social housing project in Nam Ngan residential group, Nenh ward invested by New Star Housing and Urban Development Joint Stock Company, 100 workers are working in 3 shifts per day divided into 6 construction teams.
The constractors are carrying out the items of bored pile, pile caps, foundation beams, and technical infrastructure system. The project consists of three 18-floor buildings with 840 apartments, a total investment of over 1 trillion VND (38.36 million USD).
Similarly, the Nham Bien social housing project in Yen Dung ward with six 19-floor buildings and 1,800 apartments is being implemented.
At the construction site, 350 workers divided into 8 teams are constructing all items from foundation to the main structure. The construction teams maintain 2-3 work shifts per day.
The project is expected to be completed and brought into use in the 4th quarter this year.
The construction site of the Hoang Ninh Ecolife social housing project in Nenh ward is also bustling with activities. The project has completed approximately 60 percent of its main structural works.
The investor is mobilising additional workforce and equipment to arrange multiple construction teams to accelerate the progress and bring the project into operation soon. Upon completion, the project will comprise three 18-floor buildings with about 870 apartments.
Apart from the above key projects, many others are being accelerated construction progress including VSIP Bac Ninh urban and service area in Dai Dong commune and Tu Son ward, the commercial and social housing and trade center in Dai Dong commune and Yen Phong-Yen Trung worker housing and commercial-services project.
Meanwhile, a number of projects still encounter obstacles in site clearance, legal procedures and adjustment to the master plan, which affect the implementation progress. Facing this circumstance, the province has implemented many measures to address difficulties.
In order to create a stable financial resource for social and rental housing, in March 2026 the province approved the scheme to assign the provincial Development Investment Fund to perform the functions of a local housing fund with a total capital allocation of 1 trillion VND (38.36 million USD) to be disbursed over a three-year period, including 200 billion VND (7.67 million USD) allocated for 2026.
Besides, the province continues reviewing the whole land reserve for social housing and builds development roadmap for specific areas based on factual demands to ensure supply-demand balance and conform to the orientations for modern urban and industrial development.
From business side, many investors are accelerating construction and finalizing partial acceptance procedures to soon bring the projects to market and meet the big housing demand of workers.
Tens of thousands of social houses have been built to open more opportunities for many workers to secure stable housing.
Once completed and put into operation, these projects will serve as an important resource for the province to continue attracting investment, promoting industrial development and improving people’s quality of life.
