Held under the messages “Sharing love - Celebrating a joyful Tet” and “Spreading kindness far and wide,” the event drew support from 42 benefactors who provided essential goods and popular Tet items free of charge.

Products included rice, Chung cakes (sticky rice cakes), Vietnamese pork rolls, confectionery, candied fruits, instant noodles, fresh milk, fish sauce, cooking oil, seasoning, blankets, clothing and household items, all free of charge.

Notably, the market also featured a calligraphy booth and offered loudspeakers with Dharma talks and books promoting traditional cultural education.

A total of 1,000 patients at Bac Ninh No.2 General Hospital received vouchers distributed through the hospital’s social work network across departments. With each voucher, patients were able to choose three to four items according to their needs and preferences.

For critically ill patients unable to attend, family members collected the gifts on their behalf. The estimated total value of goods from the 42 stalls reached around 700 million VND (about 27,000 USD).

Since 2023, the “Zero-VND Tet Market” has been organized annually by the hospital in the run-up to the traditional Lunar New Year. The initiative aims to help bring a warmer and more fulfilling Tet to disadvantaged patients and their families, while encouraging and motivating them to stay strong and overcome illness.

Running from February 1 to 25, the programme brings to life the festive atmosphere of Tet during the Le Trung Hung (Revival Le) Dynasty (1533–1789) alongside the folk Tet traditions of ancient Thang Long, helping to spread and honour Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.

On February 4, the Vietnam Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Dak Lak provincial authorities, organised the programme “Tet for Flood-Affected Communities” in Tay Hoa commune. At the event, 1,000 Tet gift packages, worth 1 million VND (38 USD) each, were presented to poor households, policy beneficiary families facing hardship, victims of Agent Orange, elderly people living alone, persons with disabilities, those with serious illnesses, and families affected by storms and floods.
