Construction units speed up the construction of infrastructure in southern urban areas.

Numerous large-scale projects

Many construction projects are underway on hundreds hectares of land in the southern part of Bac Giang city. Director of the provincial civil and industrial construction investment project management board Nguyen Van Dinh said the technical infrastructure building project for the urban areas No.1 and 2 is being carried out with rapid progress.

Contractors, including Tan Thinh Construction Co. Ltd and 379 Investment JSC, are actively implementing transport, electricity, lighting, water drainage, and telecom works. The companies are scheduled to hold an auction of nearly 300 lots of land in July this year, including over 10 hectares of residential land.

With a total investment of 560 billion VND from the local budget, encompassing 150 billion VND for site clearance and over 400 billion VND for technical infrastructure, the preeminent point of the urban areas is the synchronous design, especially the underground power lines and telecom cables. The transport system along with the water supply and drainage network and firefighting system is designed to meet urban standards. The appropriate distance between the buildings is favorable for the construction of houses wit premises for doing business.

The reasonable arrangement of primary and secondary schools, trade centers, transport system, trees, parks, parking lots, and sidewalks will bring a lot of conveniences to residents, creating a clean and environmentally-friendly living environment.

The project management board has been entrusted to be the investor of a 40ha sports complex project. The large-scale project includes a lake, a stadium and a parking lot. In the foreseeable future, technical infrastructure will be built on over 10 hectares, including a 5,000-seat stadium and a green tree campus with an investment of over 800 billion VND. Nearly 90 percent of land has been cleared for the construction of the project, which will kick off in June 2017.

Technical infrastructure building in the urban area No.2

Deputy Director of the construction investment project No. 1 management board Chu Thuc Tien said his unit was assigned by the Bac Giang city People’s Committee to be investor of a project to build headquarters of the municipal Party Committee, People’s Committee and People’s Council on 8.2 hectares. The project is being carried out and scheduled to be completed this year.

The management board was also selected to invest in a technical infrastructure project for the urban area No.3 on an area of 19.5 hectares. It is coordinating with relevant units and Tan Tien commune to draw land clearance compensation plans for households in order to commence the project in June this year. Apart from the urban areas No.1, 2, 3 and sport complex, Dong Son bridge and the headquarters of the municipal Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee, other projects to build the headquarters of the provincial Public Security Department and People’s Court are also under construction.

To implement the development plan, authorities of Bac Giang city, Tan Tien commune, and hamlets have paid high attention to land clearance. Thanks to boosting information and communication on the urban development plan and the socio-economic benefits from construction projects, most of the residents have supported site clearance.

However, statistics of the civil and industrial construction investment project management board and the construction investment project No.1 management board of Bac Giang city showed that about one hectare of land of each project has yet been cleared while nearly 2,000 tombs have yet been removed.

According to the construction investment project No.1 management board, Bac Giang city has set up a separate project on 2.2 hectares to build a cemetery in Truoc hamlet, Tan Tien commune. To date, 50 percent of the workload has been completed. The investor is working to ensure the early removal of the aforesaid tombs. For coercion cases, the city will implement set plans in line with law and hand over the entire area for the construction unit.
