Visiting the garden of Duong Van Dau in Bao Loc No.1 village, many people surprised at the main season lychee tree laden with red ripe fruits. Many fruits come out from the trunk and main branches. The juicy fruits have small seed and the same sweet taste as the main season lychee.

Dau shared: “This year is the first time I have girdled branch and used some bio-products to boost early flowering and fruit ripening stage. My lychee is ripe now and it is one month earlier than the harvest time of main season lychee in the province”.

Duong Van Dau is so surprised at the ripe time of main season lychee.

According to the Division of Plant Production and Protection (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), Dau’s lychee is ripe earliest in the province. 

Now, the main season lychee in the province has small and green fruits.

Though the quantity is not much, it opened up new cultivation and caring method for this crop. The Division will research, gradually duplicate to spread lychee harvest time.
