Bac Giang brings products into global value chain

BAC GIANG - Constantly innovating and applying advanced techniques into production, many enterprises in the northern province of Bac Giang have gained breakthrough. They have improved the products’ quality and designs, hence helping increase the value and competitiveness toward new markets.

For recent years, many investors have been interested in applying new technology to the wood processing industry, no longer simply rough processing as before.

Typically, Huarong Industry Company Limited has the most modern and largest scale wood processing technology in the province.

Manufacturing machine parts at Yontech Vina Company Limited

The enterprise's wood pellet factory is located in Dien village in Tam Tien commune of Yen The district. Although it has a large capacity about 200 tonnes of products per day and night, there are only 90 engineers and workers because most stages are operated automatically. All of the company's products are exported to Japan as fuel for thermal power plants.

While most wood businesses and wood processing facilities in the province only purchase regular machinery and equipment to produce from dry wood materials, Huarong Industry Company Limited invested nearly 150 billion VND (6.4 million USD) to install synchronous and modern lines to use both fresh raw materials.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, along with agricultural and forestry product processing enterprises, Bac Giang also has more than 600 enterprises operating in the field of supporting industries, with 4 main groups including manufacturing steel; steel structure; manufacturing (machinery equipment, boilers, hydraulics); installation and reparation.

The mechanical industry in the province earns total revenue of about 3 trillion VND per year and creates jobs for thousands of workers.

Manufacturing and precision mechanical enterprises like Alpha Vina Mechanical and Automation Joint Stock Company, Etech Vina Precision Mechanical Company Limited... have invested in digital transformation and technological innovation so as to manufacture many products, molds, equipment and specialized machines and participate in the supply chain of high-tech, automated mechanical products.

High and modern technologies are the key for businesses in the province to have enough competitiveness and economic integration.

Currently, Bac Giang has more than 15,500 businesses. Most of companies operating in the fields of mechanical engineering, agricultural and forestry product processing, garments... apply high technology into production. Since 2020, the province's businesses have contributed thousands of billions of VND to the state budget on a yearly basis and the figure is increased every year.

With the efforts of enterprises and support from all levels and sectors, more and more companies in the province are expanding their scale, raising their position and increasing the scientific and technological content of each product.

The firms are supported in various method such as providing market information and legal policies; facilitating in administrative procedures; training, developing human resources and supporting participation in industry clusters, value chains and market expansion.

The industrial promotion program proved that since 2020, the whole province has assisted 13 supporting industrial production enterprises to upgrade production machinery and equipment.

Recently, local authority has focused on attracting many high-tech projects (in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, construction materials, new materials and supporting industries) which use economical land, little labor and are deeply involved in the global value chain.
