Bac Giang project enters final of National Women's Startup Contest

BAC GIANG - The Women's Startup Contest is one of the activities under the Project "Supporting women's startups in 2017 – 2025 period" approved by the Prime Minister on June 30, 2017. In 2023, the contest was launched by the Vietnam Women's Union in March with the theme "Women start businesses, promote indigenous resources".

The competition was divided into three regions: North, Central and South. More than 2,000 startup projects/ ideas of women from 18 provinces and cities in the Northern region participated in the contest, 52 of which were from Bac Giang province.

Leaders of Nam Dinh province and Vietnam Women's Union award the first prize of Women's Startup Contest at Northern regional level to Nguyen Thi Kim Dung.

After screening, 273 projects were qualified to the regional preliminary round, including 5 projects from Bac Giang then 32 projects and ideas were selected to the final round of the Northern regional contest recently held in Nam Dinh province.

Two projects from Bac Giang entered the next round of the regional competition, including project of Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, CEO and Director of Danh Mountain Ginseng Production and Consumption Cooperative in Lien Chung Commune ( Tan Yen district) and the project of Nguyen Thi Hong, Director of Organic Xuong Lam Production, Sales and Service Cooperative in Xuong Lam commune (Lang Giang district).

Nguyen Thi Kim Dung’s project to build a brand, enhance the value and commercialize the products of Danh mountain ginseng won first prize at regional contest and was selected to the final round of National Women's Startup Contest 2023 to be held in October.

The Contest aims to spread and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of women, which helps expand cooperation opportunities, connect markets, promote economic empowerment for women and affirm women’s role and position in new era.
