The route features seven tours, departing from Wednesday to Sunday every week. Domestic and international tourists can choose a day tour or two-day-and-one-night tour to cultural, historical and spiritual sites and craft villages in Bac Giang.
The highlight of this tourism route is a one-day tour named "Hanoi – Tay Yen Tu: Following the footsteps of the King Monk", which departs from Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi, passing Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Yen Dung district, to Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex in Son Dong district.
After more than 4 months, SGO Travel has brought nearly 130 delegations with nearly 5,000 visitors to destinations in Bac Giang province. Most of them chose the "Hanoi - Tay Yen Tu: Following the footsteps of the King Monk" tour.
"Taking advantage of the proximity to Hanoi and convenient transportation routes, we want to create more attractive destinations not only for tourists in the capital city but also for international visitors who stay in Hanoi," Vice Chairman of SGO Travel Phung Quang Thang said.
Enterprises have also actively formed linkages to take visitors to the Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex. In the first six months of 2023, this site welcomed about 300,000 visitors, of which more than 103,000 used cable car service - the highest number since the complex started operating in 2019.
Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, managing director of the complex, said that from January to July 2023, the unit signed about 70 contracts with travel businesses to bring tourists here. At the same time, it coordinated with many other units to organize major cultural and sports events at the site.
Determining the importance of tourism development linkage, over the past time, units, cooperatives and travel businesses have implemented many activities such as promoting and building tourism products, tours and routes; and organizing pick-up and drop-off services for visitors.
Along with the cooperation between travel businesses, management units and tourism service businesses, tourism promotion activities between Bac Giang and other provinces and cities have been paid due attention.
According to Luu Xuan San, Director of the Bac Giang Tourism Information and Promotion Center, over the past time, the unit has actively coordinated to organize and participate in promotional events, surveys, product development activities, seminars and events to introduce Bac Giang tourism programs.
Bac Giang has signed cooperation agreements on tourism development with many provinces and cities nationwide such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Bac Kan and Tuyen Quang. Under the deals, the provinces and cities will exchange information to set new orientations in tourism development in each locality and effectively tap the value of the region’s tourism resources.
Thanks to the effective tourism development linkages, the number of tourists to Bac Giang is increasing day by day. In the first six months of 2023, the province welcomed 1.3 million tourists, an increase of nearly 45% over the same period in 2022. Of whom, 13,000 were international visitors. Total revenue from tourism business activities reached about 690 billion VND (29 million), up 26% year-on-year.
