Bac Giang strives to enter top three provinces for biggest fruit value nationwide

(BGO) – The Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has decided to approve for “Project supports sustainable fruit cultivation in Bac Giang for the period 2021 - 2025”, targeting to sustainably develop centralized fruit production area, apply sustainable and safe production procedure as well as information technology, digital transformation to develop trademark, label, package and stamp for origin traceability.

By 2025, the province strives to develop total fruit area of 53,500 ha, up over 6,000 ha comparing to the figure in 2021, including 26,875 ha to form centralized production area under VietGAP standard; make the fruit cultivation area in Luc Ngan district become national key area; earn over 10 trillion VND from fruit value to enter top three provincies having biggest fruit value nationwide.

The project will be executed with total cost of nearly 45 billion VND in which over 23.8 billion VND is mobilized from businesses, cooperatives and local people, the remaining one is from local budget.

It will benefit cooperatives, working groups, businesses, organizations and individuals investing to produce safe fruit in the province with scale of over 10 ha and key and signature varieties in the province such as lychee, longan, pomelo, custard apple..., hence helping expand fruit production area ensuring export standard, especially to high demanding markets of Japan, the US, EU, Australia, Republic of Korea among others.

Particularly, the PPC supports 100 percent of expense to consult and grant GlobalGAP certificate to nine fruit cultivation areas, including eight lychee areas in Luc Ngan and Tan Yen districts, one longan area in Luc Nam district, each will receive 140 million VND.

The province provides all expenses to consult and grant organic certificate to four organic fruit growing models, including three lychee models (two in Luc Ngan district and one in Tan Yen district) and one pomelo model in Luc Ngan district, each will receive 180 million VND.

The province also assists to grant new growing area code, preliminary process and preserve the product, build steaming for sterilization facility for export, consume the product, design or upgrade the label, package...

(BGO) - At the end of November, the Kim Hang Luc Ngan Organic Agricultural Technology Joint Stock Company (Kim Hang Company) exported 36,000 sweet red-flesh grapefruits to Russia for the first time. This is a good sign, creating links in producing pomelo for export.
