BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of March 6, Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh worked with Mova Plus Joint Stock Company (Mova Plus) in Europe to exchange and cooperate in exporting U Hong (early ripening) lychee in 2025.

Implementing the strategy of exporting lychee to the European and some other markets, since the end of last year, the company had requested the People's Committee of Bac Giang province to direct the production and support the promotion of the export of early ripening lychee in Phuc Hoa commune (Tan Yen district) and Luc Ngan district in 2025.

At the same time, the Company sent staff to assist households in the growing area and the preliminary processing and packaging facilities to well prepare conditions for the export of about 500 tonnes of early ripening lychee to the European market this year.

Up to now, the Company is preparing to implement lychee trade promotion activities in Europe.

CEO of Mova Plus Tran Trong Nguyen said that the company has researched on Bac Giang lychee for years and acknowledged its high quality, good appearance, favorable for export.

On this occasion, Mova Plus suggested the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Environment to pay more attention, support and guide lychee growers who are cooperating with Mova Plus to cultivate and produce lychee to ensure quality.

Besides, local competent agencies were called on coordinating and participating in activities to promote and advertise Bac Giang lychee in some European countries (Germany, France, Belgium…), promote lychee in tourist areas.

Based on the proposal of Mova Plus, speaking at the conference, Pham Van Thinh affirmed that lychee is the main crop of the locality, bringing a large source of income to people in the key areas of cultivation of this crop. Therefore, the province pays due attention to the production and consumption of the product.

Bac Giang province always creates favorable conditions for businesses to purchase and consume lychee for the people. He hoped that businesses will continue to cooperate with farmers to produce and consume lychee while the localities will support in controlling the compliance with contracts and production processes.

Tran Trong Nguyen calls for support from Bac Giang province.

Considering quality as the core factor of the product, the provincial leader requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to closely coordinate with Mova Plus and Tan Yen District People's Committee to well instruct households in lychee growing areas to ensure quality standards, meet technical requirements and export standards.

Mova Plus Company's partners should focus resources on developing specific production plans to meet the committed export output.

In the long term, he recommended the research sectors to promote the application of off-season lychee production technology immediately after the end of this year's lychee crop to increase product value.

Bac Giang currently has more than 29,700 hectares of lychee. Thanks to favorable weather, the rate of lychee flowering is high so far, forecasting a bumper harvest.
