Bac Ninh accelerates industrial park infrastructure to attract high-quality investment

Updated: 15:02, 23/09/2025

BAC NINH – Bac Ninh province, one of the country’s fastest-growing industrial hubs, is stepping up efforts to resolve bottlenecks and accelerate the development of infrastructure in its industrial parks, aiming to create momentum for attracting high-quality domestic and foreign investment, provincial leaders said.

Local authorities said modern, well-connected industrial park infrastructure remains a decisive factor for investors considering long-term projects.

With growing interest from multinational corporations and domestic firms, the province is under pressure to ensure land clearance and infrastructure projects are completed on schedule.

Provincial leaders have directed districts with industrial park projects to urgently complete site clearance and hand over clean land to investors. This would allow investors to finish building internal infrastructure and begin promoting the sites to secondary tenants.

Bac Ninh province has 41 industrial parks with approved detailed planning, covering a total area of 12,925 hectares. Of these, 33 parks have received investment approval and investor endorsement for infrastructure development and operation, with a combined area of 10,171 hectares, including 7,226 hectares of industrial land. The average occupancy rate stands at around 56.7%. Among the 33 approved parks, 15 are nearly fully occupied, attracting more than 2,840 secondary investment projects. The total newly registered and adjusted capital has exceeded USD 45.26 billion.

During a recent inspection, Lam Thi Huong Thanh, a standing member of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Council, underscored the strategic importance of industrial park infrastructure for Bac Ninh’s socio-economic development.

She called on government agencies, local authorities and developers to coordinate more closely, remove obstacles in the handover of land, and accelerate leveling and construction of unfinished sections.

The Vice Chairwoman also highlighted the need to communicate better with residents in areas affected by land clearance, urging officials to seek consensus through outreach, dialogue and support policies.

Local governments were told to review projects and propose solutions consistent with the province’s overall planning strategy, with the guiding principle of creating the most favorable conditions for businesses.

Alongside physical infrastructure, Bac Ninh is also paying attention to broader issues surrounding its industrial parks, including employment, affordable housing for workers, transport links and environmental protection.

Addressing these social and environmental factors, officials said, is essential to ensuring a stable workforce, improving workers’ living standards and building investor confidence.

Provincial authorities have also urged industrial park developers to align with Bac Ninh’s investment orientation by targeting projects with strong financial capacity, advanced technology and environmentally friendly practices.

Investment projects should also meet criteria related to digital transformation, innovation and the application of science and technology, helping to maximize the potential of the province’s high-quality workforce.

By focusing on both hard infrastructure and supporting conditions for workers, Bac Ninh aims to create a favorable ecosystem for secondary investors.

Officials said the province is determined to attract projects that bring long-term value, promote innovation and contribute to Vietnam’s broader goal of sustainable and green industrial growth.

The local government stressed that ensuring quality infrastructure, reliable utilities and modern waste treatment facilities will help the province position itself as a destination of choice for high-tech, value-added industries.

Bac Ninh’s leaders said the goal is to transform the province into one of Vietnam’s leading centers for advanced industrial production, leveraging its strategic location in the Red River Delta and proximity to Hanoi.
