Vietnamese businesses actively seek Russian partners at trade forum

Updated: 21:00, 21/09/2025

Vietnamese products are now well known among Russian consumers and there are no legal barriers for Vietnamese goods in Russia, as Russian authorities always advocate for closer business ties.

More than 40 Vietnamese companies took part in a Vietnam–Russia business networking session in Moscow on September 19, showing strong interest in expanding cooperation with Russian partners.

The event, part of the International Trade Day Forum 2025 (IDT-2025) and held in a business-to-business format, allowed Vietnamese firms to showcase products, discuss business plans, and explore potential partnerships.

It was attended by Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Duong Hoang Minh, Vietnam’s Trade Counsellor in Russia.

Speaking at the event, Chien expressed confidence that the meeting would help businesses from both countries connect directly and identify reliable partners for long-term cooperation.

He stressed that as the government agency responsible for trade promotion, his office would continue to support companies, work closely with Russian authorities, and help remove barriers to create an open, transparent and stable business environment.

From the Russian side, Anastasia Sayanok, head of the working group with Vietnam at the Russian Association of Importers and Exporters, said the session was an important step to boost investment and exports.

She noted that global economic changes mean Russian companies are now looking for trustworthy new partners, and Vietnam is an attractive option.

Businesses from both countries used the opportunity to connect, learn about each other’s markets, and exchange ideas. Vietnamese firms also benefited from the support of the trade office in Russia and local promotion agencies.

Nguyen Ba Doan, Chairman of Viet Ha High-Tech Production JSC, said that this is the first time his firm has accessed the Russian market.

He said the firm is eager to explore Russia, describing it as a large and fast-growing market with long-standing ties to Vietnam.

He emphasised that to succeed, Vietnamese companies must ensure internationally certified product quality, offer competitive prices, and invest in modern production technology to cut costs.

Lawyer Yuri Koval, also from the Russian Association of Importers and Exporters, praised the quality of Vietnamese products, saying they are now well known among Russian consumers because many of whom have traveled to Vietnam.

He confirmed there are no legal barriers for Vietnamese goods in Russia, as Russian authorities always advocate for closer business ties.
