During a working session on May 15 at the headquarters of the Bac Ninh Federation of Labour, Thach Van Chung, member of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Federation of Labour, welcomed the visiting delegation from Bucheon.

Speaking at the meeting, Chung highlighted that the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two trade union organizations has been maintained and developed positively over the past 13 years.

Both sides expressed expectations of expanding information exchanges and sharing experience in representing, supporting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Leaders of the Bac Ninh Federation of Labour also briefed the delegation on the province’s socio-economic development, particularly the rapid expansion of industrial parks that have attracted a large workforce from across Vietnam and abroad.

The provincial trade union has implemented a range of practical programmes aimed at improving workers’ living conditions, including welfare support, better meal quality, housing assistance, and cultural and sports activities.

Park Jong Hyun, Chairman of the Bucheon Federation of Trade Unions, shared South Korea’s experience in trade union activities, especially models supporting workers in adapting to digital transformation, improving vocational skills, enhancing working conditions and strengthening workplace dialogue.

The South Korean delegation praised the achievements of the Bac Ninh Federation of Labour and expressed hope for more practical and specific cooperation programmes in the future.

Bac Ninh is one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing industrial provinces and hosts a large number of foreign-invested enterprises, with South Korean companies accounting for the largest share.

Both sides said stronger ties between trade union organizations play an important role in building harmonious, stable and progressive labour relations, while supporting sustainable business development.

Earlier, the Bucheon delegation visited Broad Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. in Van Trung Industrial Park and Hanoi SEOWONINTECH Co., Ltd. in Yen Phong Industrial Park to learn about the lives and working conditions of employees.

BAC NINH - More than 520,000 trade union members and workers in Bac Ninh province have benefited from Vietnam’s trade union welfare programme since 2023, with total savings estimated at 33.9 billion VND (1.48 million USD).

BAC NINH - Building on the success of the 2024 “Trade Union Meal” programme, this year the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has directed all levels of trade unions nationwide to continue implementing this activity at all grassroots trade unions, from July 20 to September 2.
