In Bac Ninh province, surveys at various enterprises show that grassroots trade unions have proactively and actively advised company leadership and effectively organised the “Trade Union Meal” programme.

For example, at the trade union of GU Vina Co., Ltd., located in the Viet Tien Industrial Cluster, more than 2,200 trade union members and workers recently received meal support worth 70,000 VND (2.67 USD) per portion, an increase of 50,000 VND compared to the regular daily meal allowance. The menu included a variety of delicious dishes. All organisational costs were covered by the grassroots trade union’s budget.

Meanwhile, at Cedo Vietnam Co., Ltd., located in the Dai Dong Industrial Park, the grassroots trade union collaborated with the company to host the programme, entitled “Trade Union Meal – Cedo Family Meal.”

Here, more than 1,300 union members were provided with meals worth nearly 100,000 VND each.

The funding was sponsored jointly by the company’s management board and the trade union. In addition to rice and dessert fruit, the meal featured a diverse and nutritious menu.

In the coming time, alongside efforts to maintain the programme, trade unions at all levels will continue promoting awareness among employers about the importance of improving meal quality for workers during their shifts.
