Bac Ninh citrus fruits enjoy smooth consumption
BAC NINH - Citrus fruit consumption in Bac Ninh province has remained favourable this season, with about 35,000 tonnes sold so far, accounting for more than 48% of total output, according to the provincial Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection.
Orange sales have reached more than 13,470 tonnes, or over 48% of planned production, while pomelo output exceeded 21,000 tonnes, representing more than 42% of the total. Other citrus products include lemons and mandarins.

Thanks to good cultivation practices, fruit quality has been high, helping prices remain firm and stable from the start of the season and broadly in line with the same period in 2025.
Sweet oranges are priced at 25,000–50,000 VND (0.87 – 2.19 USD) per kg, while yellow flesh oranges range from 12,000–30,000 VND per kg. Pomelo prices vary widely from 8,000 to 200,000 VND per fruit, depending on variety and quality.
Farmers are also harvesting other fruit crops, including off-season custard apples and jujubes. Off-season custard apple output has reached 5,800 tonnes out of a total of 6,200 tonnes, with prices at 35,000–55,000 VND per kg, unchanged from last year.
Apple output has reached about 5,750 tonnes out of more than 15,260 tonnes, with prices at 25,000–65,000 VND per kg, up 5,000–10,000 VND per kg from the previous season.
This year, Bac Ninh has more than 8,100 hectares under citrus cultivation, including 5,400 hectares of pomelo. Orange output is estimated at more than 28,320 tonnes, while pomelo production is forecast at over 48,660 tonnes, up 18.1% from a year earlier.
